Research Work

In addition to Conventional Training RCTRC, Kalyani has already undertaken proposals which will provide scope for medium term and long-term training. The RCTRC, Kalyani has already undertaken few research works based on which future training programme may be proposed.

The following research work already undertaken at RCTRC.

 Medium Term Research Work:-

Soil Sample collected from different zones of State for which relationship curve prepared for sand content with CBR. A methodology generation is under process for selection of direct CBR at site based on sand content.

Evaluation of Panel Concrete Pavement by measuring deflection through FWD and performance evaluation.

Mix design and design of pavement component using cement and commercial chemical stabilizer through FDR technology. The pavement design conducted using IIT  Pave.

Performance Assessment of Lime-Treated Soil Based on CBR, UCS and Compaction Characteristics.

Comparative Analysis of Density and Compressive Strength Relationships in Cast-in-Situ and Laboratory-Moulded.

Experimental Investigation on Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate with Stone Dust and Stone Grit in Concrete using Composite Cement.

Fabrication of Mixing & Blending device for producing waste  plastics blended bituminous material for construction of full-scale pavement sections by IIEST ,Shibpur.A MoU has beeen signed between RCTRC,Kalyani & IIEST,Shibpur in this regard.

Long Term Research Work:-

Rehabilitation and Retrofitting design of Bridges using 3D finite element software “MIDAS CIVIL” and   performance evaluation under earthquake load based on field data. In this  regard the bridge sensors already implemented in 8 nos. pilot projects on completed Bridge sanctioned under PMGSY.
